A visit to Universal Studios

This is the entry to Universal Studios. It is a very impressive park. The parking is in huge multi-level parking garages and you walk from the garage directly to the park. Whereas, Disney has huge parking lots where they have trams pick-up and deliver you to your car, or at least the general vicinity of your car. Disney does have the traffic flow down to a science and it is very easy to get out of the park. Universal has not discovered how to do that yet. At Universal we had to go through at least five stop lights and make a number of lane changes and crossovers to get out of the park. Very confusing and frustrating.

At 7:00 in the evening they had a adventure show in the lake at the park. Good guys vs. bad guys in boats and waverunners. Lots of shooting, explosions and fun. The picture at the right features a bad-guy boat going off a ramp that goes through this floating fuel barge. If you look closely you can see the boat coming out of the right side of the of the explosion.

All in all is was a great day. There were a number of exciting rides and fun shows that kept us there all day long. Susan held up very well, but as you can see from the picture below, I didn't do as well....
