After leaving Memphis about 1:00 today we arrived in Jasper, Arkansas about 5:00. The campground was about 3 miles off the main road on a narrow rural road. As we turned into the property there was a building on the right that looked like the office, but numerous signs directed us to a narrow road that led uphill and out of sight. Seemed strange to go up a hill to the office when the campground was on the lower level as we came in. So, we followed the narrow, crumbling, ditch on both sides road up the hill to the office and said a short prayer of thanks as we coasted to a stop outside the office. After we signed in we were instructed that in case of tornado warnings we should come back up the hill and take refuge in the church. Fortunately, we did not have to take advantage of her offer.
